Dear IFMA CA Chapter Leaders,
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we inform you of the death of our colleague and friend, Tony Soriano, who passed away on Wednesday, April 6. Tony had suffered with a prolonged illness in recent years. Despite his illness, he continued to serve as IFMA leader, volunteer, and mentor for both the IFMA Orange County Chapter and the IFMA Foundation. We will all miss him for his enthusiasm, amazing networking abilities, and fearless attitude of the possible! Tony was not just our colleague but our good friend as well. Tony will be missed more than words can express.
As you all know, Tony was a strong force in sustainability. He served on the City of Huntington Beach Sustainability Committee and was President of the OC Surfrider Foundation organizing beach cleanups and sustainability education for students. To honor Tony’s legacy, the IFMA Orange County Chapter and IFMA Foundation have established a Sustainability Facility Professional (SFP) Scholarship fund. You can learn more here https://bit.ly/3jfV1ub.
Tony was well liked and well known throughout the State of California. Please share this information with your chapter members.
We will share with you the details regarding the memorial service as we hear more details from Tony’s family. We know that the family will be planning a beach cleanup and day of remembrance in about three weeks in Huntington Beach. As we learn more information, we will let you know. This is all the information we have at this time.
Sincerely,
Jerry Eldridge Diane Levine
